About the Content Provider

Connecticut Children’s Theatre (CCT) was founded in 1991 by Tony nominated (Best Musical) and Grammy nominated (Best Spoken Word for Children) producer and director Jerry Goehring and acclaimed performer/writer Patty Carver as a way to introduce inner-city children to professional live theatre performances. Initial programming was created in association with major performing arts centers in the tri-State area. This interactive collaboration was specifically focused for educators and school systems in the at-risk communities of central New Jersey, Connecticut and the New York City boroughs.

Since 1991, CCT, and its New York-based artists, have created 54 new musicals, seen by over one million children, each with educator-supported study guides for complete curriculum integration. CCT currently produces several national tours each year, performs in hundreds of schools with its "In-School" programming, operates important community outreach activities, offers summer camps for children taught by industry professionals and is the In-Residence professional theatre company in the 776-seat Edgerton Center for the Performing Arts, on the campus of  Sacred Heart University, Fairfield, CT. While In-Residence, CCT works hand-in-Hand with students from the Theatre Arts Program at Sacred Heart University to create new works for children.

Patty Carver is a singer, actress & writer with international credits and has appeared across the country in numerous stock and regional musicals.
As Playwrite in Residence for Connecticut Children's Theatre and Salt Box Productions, Patty has written 50+ original musicals for young audiences produced for national tours and sit down productions. Given the opportunity, Patty appears in these musicals and to date, has performed for a wide range of audiences, including hundreds of thousands of children!
With an extensive background in Musical Theatre, she has performed her one woman musicals throughout New England and the East Coast for the past 15 years. Patty began offering this unique programming with her acclaimed This Old Hat, Women of American History series, in middle schools and libraries throughout New England. Subsequently, she began getting calls from adult audiences... CCRCs, historical societies, DAR events, retirement communities and special event venues. To date, she has performed for hundreds of retirement communities throughout New England, PA, OH, NY, NJ, MD, VA, NC, SC and Florida.  As programming demand by CCRCs increases, Patty has created  musical trubutes which have been equaly well received, in particular, Sentimental Journey, The Music of Doris Day.
Patty's first commercially produced musical was for the adult market, with Definately Doris, celebrating the music of the Legendary Doris Day. The show premired in London, with Patty playing the lead with much success, including the full endorsement of Ms. Day herself. The show was subsequently produced in Boston, then Gary Marshall's Falcon Theatre in Los Angeles.
Six of her plays heve been published through Dramatic Publishing, Inc.
Patty happily resides in Essex, CT with her husband Jerry and her children, Theresa and Andrew.
