A Visit with Aesop. The greatest storyteller in the world would like to visit with you!  Aesop shares the story of his own life, along with his classic fables such as the Tortoise and the Hare, The Lion and the Mouse, The Two Frogs, and Androcles and the Lion, among others.  Charming, delightful, entertaining, with lots of positive life lessons and audience interaction. K – Gr 5. Note, other traditional story-telling shows from J.T. Turner are available, including “Traditional New England Ghost Stories by ‘Candlelight’”, Gr 4 & up, and “Winter Tales from Around the World”, K – Gr 5.

Program Details

Format

1. Aesop discusses his life a slave and his eventual freedom in ancient Greece
2. With the participation of audience members as characters in his fables, Aesop shares several of his tales, and discusses the structure and morals of these famous fables with participants.
3. Question and answer time with Aesop

Objectives

Participants will:
1. Understand how a fable is structured and be able to describe or replicate this structure.
2. Develop an appreciation for the morals of Aesop's fables and how they can be applied to contemporary life.
