Spring into Summer K-3rd

As the trees turn green and the ice melts away, we know that winter is over and summer is on it's way. Learn how animals celebrate this change in nature, such as frogs chirping, birds singing and babies being born. We will explore the different ways that animals make the switch from cold winter days to warm summer nights.

By Request: $225.00


Please schedule carefully! Program transfers may be requested based on our ability to reschedule you. Transfers are determined by space availability. A $5 transfer fee will be charged per program for the first transfer date. A $10 transfer fee will be charged for additional transfers. Transfer fees must be paid with credit card at the time requested. We cannot accommodate same day or next day transfers.


Full payment is due before the program. To receive an invoice and pay by check, 8 week's booking notice is required. If a program is booked with less than 8 week's notice, but at least 4 week's notice, full credit card payment is required when booking the program. We are unable to schedule programs with less than 4 week's notice.

Provider's Cancellation Policy

Cancellations/Refunds
Please notify the Education Department at (314) 646-4544 or the Outreach Coordinator at (314) 646-4754 immediately if you need to cancel. Another group may be able to take your place.

Refunds

Four Weeks Prior to Program:
A full refund will be issued minus a $5 cancellation fee if you notify the Education Department four weeks prior to your program. There is a $5 cancellation fee per program.

Two Weeks Prior to Program:
You are entitled to a 50% program fee refund if you notify the Education Department two - four weeks prior to your program date.

Less than Two Weeks Prior to Program:
There is no refund for groups that cancel with less than two weeks' notice.

Please note: In the event that your school and/or the Zoo is closed the day of your program due to weather, we will try to reschedule your program or issue a full refund.

Our videoconferencing classes will introduce you and your students to a variety of animals and topics including: habitats, ecology, and adaptations. Older students will also learn about our conservation programs going on here at the Zoo and around the world. 

All programs are interactive
and may utilize any of the following: live video from our Zoo habitats, webcams, pre-recorded video footage, biofacts,
and other means to create a memorable learning experience.

Program Details

Format

1. The program begins with a "game" in which the participants have to determine which season the presenter is prepared fro, based upon the presenter's costume.
2. Discussion about how we know it is spring.
3. Introduction to how animals celebrate the arrival of spring. This section may include biofacts, live animals, and video segments.
4. Conclusion of program, with a sharing time of what students are most excited about regarding the return of spring!

At all times, questions are welcome!

- explore what animals do in the spring after the long winter
