Program Description   Students will construct a Pop-Up Plant puppet while learning about the various parts of a plant and their functions. Students will also discuss photosynthesis and plants as food. This is a great arts and science lesson all in one!

Puppet materials are easy-to-find, low-cost items that can mostly be found around the classroom. The materials list, templates, and curriculum-based study guide can be downloaded from our website.
Program Format   1. This program begins by showing the students an example of the type of puppet they will be making-- a rod puppet (from Africa and/or Japan)

2. Students then participate in an interactive learning activity on plant habitats.

3. We do our first puppet building step.

4. Students participate in an interactive activity on plant parts and their functions

5. Students work on the second section of puppet

6. Students participate in a discussion about pollination

7. Students work on the third section of the puppet

8. Students participate in a final learning activity "Plants as Food."

9. Students finish the puppet.

Program Fee Notes   Book 8 programs and the 9th is FREE. Two sites may participate via a multipoint connection for the $145.00 fee. Each additional site is $25.00.
Cancellation Policy   We will not charge for programs cancelled due to nature i.e. snow days or if there are technical problems that do not allow a connection. Sites will need to reschedule.
