About the Content Provider
The Seward House Museum is a historic house museum interpreting the accomplishments, democratic and social values of former Secretary of State William H. Seward and his immediate family. A New York State Senator, two-term Governor, U.S. Senator and Secretary of State, Seward's political career spans several notable political and social movements of the 19th century including the Underground Railroad, Women's Rights, territorial expansion and the politics of secession.
