Portal to the Public provides professional development to effectively communicate the Broader Impacts of your research. This program brings scientists and the public together in collaborative conversational settings.

Throughout this multi-part workshop series, participants will:
1. Enhance professional communication skills
2. Develop an interactive educational activity which can be used in multiple educational settings
3. Network with other STEM professionals committed to public engagement and education
4. Receive STEM Communication Fellowship certification

Science Central is a non-profit focused on STEM based learning. We provide hands-on programming in an exciting mix of demonstrations and labs beamed directly to your location!

We opened on November 5, 1995 and are located in a renovated Light and Power Plant. We are the only regional science and technology center in Northeast Indiana. We are also the only NASA Educator Resource Center in Indiana.

We are open throughout the whole year and are able to provide programming during the school year as well as during the summer.

Format

This hands-on workshop will include both elements shipped to your location as well as materials printed by your location.

The program will include:
• 6 two-hour group sessions
• 2 individual meetings with Science Central staff
