creations are inspired by a variety of things including the natural world and
gardens, both public and private. Join Karin as she takes you on a journey
exploring various artists, such as Claude Monet, Van Gogh, Childe
Hassam and Christie Belcourt. Discover how their art has been influenced by both the
cultivated and wild nature.  Finish the program with an nature art activity - creating a mandala.

American and other international schools and groups will pay in US dollars (USD)

Program Details

Format

1. Welcome to Royal Botanical Gardens (RBG) and the program.
2. Share the history of what a garden has been in some cultures.
3. Explore historic paintings and discuss inspiration.
4. View some artistic works and the real-life inspirations - local gardens or wild natural areas.
5. Questions and comments are welcome during and after the presentation.

Objectives

The participant will:
- engage in a discussion of what inspired artists
- explore the connection between art and nature using various artists and their works as examples
