Heroes of the Holocaust:

by  ISRAED-(Formerly JETS-Jerusalem EdTech)

Program image

“Every day of freedom is like an act of faith” - Tuvia Bielsky. While the horrors of the Holocaust brought out the worst in many people, it brought out the best in some. When we think of resistance to the Nazis and their collaborators, we generally think of the paramilitary resistance of heroic partisans and rebels. Yet, in a broader sense, resistance manifested itself in the determination to maintain humanity and faith in the face of the Nazi racism and genocide. In this program, students will encounter inspiring and courageous individuals, who have been designated as "Righteous Among the Nations" by Yad Vashem, the Museum of the Holocaust in Jerusalem. Audience: The course can be modified for upper elementary, middle school, high school, and adult learners.
